Training Door Supervision
   
 

The purpose of this course is to give door supervisors tactics and techniques that will allow them to work effectively, stay safe, and operate within the boundaries of the law. This is an accredited Course.

Introduction

The purpose of this course is to instill confidence for those wishing to work in the leisure industry as Door Supervisor           

Who Should Attend

  • Door Supervisors who wish to apply for the SIA license
  • Any security personnel seeking further skills and qualifications in the role of a door supervisor
  • Any outside agency interested in gaining knowledge about the role of a door supervisor  

Course Content – You will be trained on:

  • Appropriate behaviours for supervisors
  • CML and criminal law
  • Searching and arrest procedures
  • Drug awareness
  • Recording incident and crime scene preservation
  • Licensing law
  • Equal opportunities and discrimination
  • Health & Safety at work
  • Emergency procedures
  • Identify the qualities of a door supervisor
  • State the requirements relating to the use of force
  • Identify types of assault
  • State ‘Conditions of entry’ and the importance of obtaining permission to search
  • Define an ‘Offensive weapon
  • Define an arrestable offence
  • Specify why arrests should only be made as a last resort            

Course Delivery

The training will be delivered over two days (15hrs) using the following methods:

  • Verbal Communication
  • Handouts
  • Role play / Power point / OHP and slides

Note: Refreshments will be provided       

Final Examination

You will be issued with a multiple – choice examination paper, it contains 40 questions, and to pass you must answer 28 out of 40 correctly. You will have 60 minutes 

Course Outcomes

On completion of this course, candidates will have achieved the required level of knowledge and understanding in Roles & Responsibilities, and will be awarded a certificate from BIIAB, which is one of the consortiums recognised by the SIA

 

Unit 2 Conflict Management Training

 

Introduction

The purpose of this course is to instill confidence in the working environment.

Conflict management has become a tool in running a successful business as in today’s world stress levels are increasing and empathy is decreasing.

Who Should Attend

  • Door supervisors wishing to apply for SIA license
  • Any security personnel seeking further skills and qualifications in the management of aggressive or violent persons
  • Any outside agency interested in gaining knowledge in part of a role of a door supervisor

Course Content

  • Introduction to communication skills and conflict management.
  • Gain a theoretical understanding of aggression and confrontation
  • Self-awareness
  • Avoiding conflict (triggers & inhibitors)
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Recognising and defusing conflict
  • Maintaining space (creating safe territory)
  • Defusing high risk conflict
  • Resolving high risk conflict
  • Resolving conflict
  • Learning from conflict (post mortem)
  • Incident response drill (verbal & hostage)
  • Three golden rules
  • You are a jungle guide
